PCS7 Automation Engineer
Mission Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Automation Engineer specialized in PCS7 or DeltaV systems for a commissioning phase on a major pharmaceutical installation.
This is a hands-on support role focused on the start-up and validation of DCS-controlled systems, in close collaboration with an external integrator. The consultant will not be writing code but will play a crucial supervisory and analytical role, ensuring proper execution and technical consistency throughout the automation layer.
You will work in tandem with a senior consultant already embedded on the project for several years, and bring strong field expertise to the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site support during the commissioning/start-up phase of automation systems.
- Work with the automation integrator to:
- Review and analyze automation code quality (PCS7 or DeltaV).
- Ensure alignment with functional specifications.
- Identify inconsistencies or gaps in the integration process.
- Participate in field testing, loop checks, and I/O verifications.
- Support technical coordination of small work packages (documentation updates, punch list follow-up, etc.).
- Serve as a technical reference on site during installation and ramp-up.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure operational readiness.
Ideal Profile:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial automation, with significant field exposure.
- Proven experience in commissioning DCS systems, ideally in pharmaceutical or process environments.
- Proficient in PCS7 and/or DeltaV – both are accepted.
- Experience with cleaning systems (CIP/SIP) under DCS is a strong plus.
- Hands-on, field-driven mindset – able to troubleshoot, validate and push systems live.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Languages:
- Fluent French preferred.
- Professional English is a must.
- Dutch is a plus, but not mandatory.
Note:
This role is commissioning-focused – we are looking for process-oriented automation experts who understand real-world system behavior and can support installation ramp-up. Coding is not part of the mission, but deep technical insight is expected.
Due to the field nature of the role, only profiles with strong commissioning/start-up experience will be considered.
