AS400 Developer - Permanent contract
Primary Responsibilities:
- IT Project Execution: Analyze functional specifications, execute IT projects within defined budgets and timelines, perform code reviews, and manage releases.
- Development: Create or adapt programs aligned with established standards and ensure quality through thorough testing.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of work performed.
Application Maintenance:
- Manage and resolve incoming tickets related to assigned applications, addressing bugs and recurring issues.
- Propose and implement approved enhancements to improve performance.
- Maintain up-to-date user and technical documentation.
User Support:
- Define and meet service availability and response time requirements.
- Develop support protocols, including escalation processes.
- Provide training and assistance to optimize application usage.
General Contributions:
- Identify opportunities to reduce applications' Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
- Collaborate effectively with IT and business teams to align efforts with organizational goals.
- Report progress on tasks, participate actively in team meetings, and contribute to knowledge sharing.
Hard Skills:
- Educational background in IT or equivalent experience.
- Professional experience:
- Junior: At least 2 years.
- Senior: At least 5 years.
- Language proficiency: English and either Dutch or French (additional languages are a plus).
- Technical expertise in AS400 IBM/I, DB2, RPG IV/ILE, Free RPG, Service Programs, CL, DFU, RLU, MQ, SQL, and SDA.
Soft Skills:
- Strong team player with a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to engage effectively with business stakeholders and understand their processes.
- Resilience under pressure with a structured and deadline-focused approach.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies (certification is an advantage).
