Medior Electrical Engineer – Nuclear Power Systems
Position Overview
The Medior Electrical Engineer will play a central role in the design, renovation, and optimization of electrical systems for nuclear generation units. The role involves ensuring compliance with both local and international standards while overseeing the classification and qualification of nuclear safety functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and specification of electrical systems for generators, transformers, motors, switchboards, and cabling within nuclear power generation environments.
- Define equipment ratings and technical specifications, ensuring system reliability and compliance with nuclear safety requirements.
- Manage tendering processes and contract administration for electrical equipment and related services as the designated Contract Owner.
- Coordinate effectively with multi-disciplinary project teams and client representatives to align on project objectives and resolve technical challenges.
- Supervise contract execution and support the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Monitor advancements in industry standards and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to electrical engineering practices.
Scope & Objectives
- Deliver expert consultation on power systems analysis, circuit design, and technical documentation relevant to nuclear operations.
- Apply knowledge of nuclear electrical systems and contribute to safe, efficient maintenance and upgrades of plant electrical infrastructure.
- Ensure operational quality by participating in audits, technical reviews, and maintaining rigorous standards in engineering outputs.
Languages
- Proficient in Dutch and English; good understanding of French required.
We are looking for candidates who are passionate problem-solvers with a strong technical background in electrical or electromechanical engineering, ideally holding a Master's degree and with substantial experience in the electrical field. Your expertise should be rooted in at least five years’ hands-on involvement, preferably within nuclear power systems, where you have engaged with critical elements such as system qualification and safety function classification.
