Job description

Job Summary:

This junior-level role supports engineering operations in an industrial environment, focusing primarily on preventive maintenance and offering assistance to process engineering activities. The role is designed to ensure reliable operations of equipment and systems, supporting both daily continuity and long-term process efficiency within a power generation or manufacturing setting.

Main Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Preventive Maintenance:
    • Plan and execute routine inspections and servicing of mechanical and electronic equipment, adhering to established schedules and procedures to minimize downtime.
    • Identify early signs of wear, malfunctions, or deviations, reporting and documenting findings in technical logs and maintenance systems.
    • Collaborate with senior engineers to monitor the effectiveness of the maintenance program and suggest improvements or corrective actions.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical records, abiding by operational and safety guidelines.
  • Support to Process Engineering:
    • Assist in monitoring and optimizing manufacturing or power plant processes, gathering data, and reporting variances against targets.
    • Provide operational feedback during scheduled production or plant activities to support process efficiency enhancements.
    • Support troubleshooting efforts by investigating routine operational issues and collaborating in root-cause analyses.

Scope and Objectives:

  • Contribute to overall equipment reliability and mitigate unplanned outages through diligent preventive maintenance and accurate technical documentation.
  • Foster continuous improvement in operational processes, supporting engineering teams in the application of mechatronics solutions and power plant operations best practices.
  • Enhance the quality of engineering services provided to internal and external customers by maintaining high standards in service levels and information accuracy.

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Applied knowledge of mechatronics engineering concepts in a maintenance or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in compiling, reviewing, and managing technical documentation for compliance and operational purposes.
  • Understanding of power plant operations, general equipment functionality, and associated safety protocols.
  • Ability to conduct equipment troubleshooting, applying technical methods to identify and resolve operational faults.
  • Competency in delivering customer service within engineering operations, supporting both internal teams and external partners as needed.
  • Familiarity with method engineering, quality control, process control, and project management techniques is considered an asset.

Languages Required:

  • Fluent English for documentation, communication, and training purposes.
  • Working proficiency in Dutch to support team interactions and site-specific communications.
