Senior Operations Officer
Responsibilities and Functions:
- Oversee the execution and processing of corporate actions within the asset servicing function, ensuring accurate and timely handling of events such as dividends, mergers, rights issues, and tender offers.
- Reconcile and validate information related to corporate actions by liaising with various custodians, depositories, counterparties, and internal departments.
- Disseminate detailed event notifications, record date requirements, and market deadlines to both internal and external stakeholders, providing ongoing updates on event statuses.
- Process instructions received from clients pertaining to elective corporate actions, verifying accuracy and confirming alignment with market rules and timelines.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards, including those set forth by the Bank for International Settlements (BIS).
- Utilize SWIFT messaging formats for the receipt, processing, and distribution of corporate action information, maintaining integrity and accuracy in communication.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies or exceptions related to corporate action events while minimizing operational risk.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, supporting technology enhancements and operational efficiencies within the asset servicing team.
- Prepare operational reports and documentation as required for audit, control, and management purposes.
Scope:
- The role resides within the Finance division and focuses primarily on the Asset Servicing area, with a core emphasis on Corporate Actions activity.
- Routine engagement with global financial market infrastructures, custodians, agents, and clients is required to support end-to-end asset servicing operations.
- Day-to-day responsibilities align with industry standards for corporate actions processing, including adherence to compliance requirements and the use of SWIFT communication protocols.
Languages:
- English is used as the primary language for all business, operational, and client communication.
Relevant Skills:
- Experience in managing and processing corporate actions within a financial services environment.
- Operational understanding of BIS compliance requirements applicable to asset servicing.
- Proficiency with SWIFT messaging standards related to securities and corporate actions events.
