Job description

Bilingual Accountant (English/French) role in Waterloo, specializing in general accounting operations from A to Z within a B2B retail environment. The position covers a broad range of finance functions and requires complete fluency in both English and French.

  • General Ledger Management: Oversee daily entries, reconciliation, and accuracy of the general ledger for all company transactions.
  • Full-Cycle Accounting: Manage accounts payable and receivable, handle monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities.
  • Account Reconciliation: Perform accurate account reconciliations, ensuring alignment with internal financial records and correction of discrepancies.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare routine and ad hoc financial statements and reports to support internal decision-making and compliance needs.
  • Tax Reporting: Support the preparation and timely filing of tax returns, ensuring adherence to local tax regulations relevant to the B2B retail sector.
  • Cost Accounting: Contribute to analysis and reporting of product and operational costs as needed by the business.

This role interacts regularly with other finance professionals, operational staff, and management, requiring strong organizational abilities and proficiency working in a bilingual environment. Responsibilities include ensuring the integrity of financial data and supporting the business’s compliance and reporting objectives.

Profile description

Position Overview:This role is responsible for supporting the Financial Controller by combining bookkeeping duties with process automation and optimization initiatives.
