Job description

A fast-growing and innovative company driving the energy transition in Belgium is seeking a Legal Advisor with expertise in renewable energy law. This organization focuses on developing and operating zero-carbon heating networks, including geothermal and heat recovery projects, in partnership with public and private entities.

They are delivering flagship low-carbon heating network projects across Wallonia, Brussels, and Flanders, powered by locally sourced renewable energy.

Role Overview
As a Legal Advisor specialized in energy law, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development of sustainable energy projects. Your primary responsibilities will include legal monitoring, regulatory analysis, and supporting administrative procedures. You will work closely with technical teams and key stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and strategic alignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor Belgian and European energy policies, with a focus on heating networks and geothermal energy.
  • Analyze relevant legal and regulatory frameworks and provide strategic legal insights.
  • Prepare and manage administrative procedures required for project development.
  • Liaise with public authorities and other stakeholders to support the integration of projects into local energy policies.
  • Contribute to drafting contractual documents and reports for partners and institutions.


Profile description

Profile

  • Higher education degree in Law.
  • 2–4 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in the energy or environmental sectors.
  • Strong understanding of the structure and functioning of Belgian regional and federal institutions, as well as energy policy frameworks.
  • Fluent in French with strong verbal and written communication skills in English; Dutch is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to team efforts.
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, and capable of synthesizing complex information.
