Head of Accounting
Gentis is a Belgian recruitment company headquartered in Brussels and providing permanent staffing as well as project sourcing solutions worldwide in multiple sectors.
For one of my client, I am currently looking for a Head of Accounting in Brussels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals.
- Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors and regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and strategic initiatives.
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
