Senior Business Development Manager
As a Senior Business Development Manager, you will oversee the business development team, ensuring they meet Key Result Indicators (KRIs), while guiding the strategic direction and operations of our merchant acquiring department. Your role is crucial in fostering business growth by managing the acquisition of new merchant accounts and optimizing existing relationships. You'll develop and execute comprehensive strategies to enhance our merchant acquiring portfolio and ensure the provision of outstanding payment solutions to our merchants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate communication among internal stakeholders and external partners (Merchants, Payment Service Providers (PSPs), banks, acquirers, card schemes, etc.).
- Create and execute a strategic roadmap for the merchant acquiring department aligned with overall business objectives.
- Onboard large enterprises and strategic merchants, focusing on successful partnerships, sustainable growth, revenue increase, and profitability enhancement.
- Lead initiatives to acquire new key merchant accounts and collaborate with the sales team for revenue growth.
- Drive revenue growth through effective sales tactics and securing new acquiring sales deals.
- Establish clear goals and expectations, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and industry regulations to identify growth and optimization opportunities.
- Collaborate with product development teams to enhance solutions to meet market demands.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies for fraud, chargebacks, and other risks associated with merchant acquiring.
- Support annual planning and budgeting.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Act as a point of escalation for strategic merchants, addressing complex issues promptly.
- Generate and analyze reports related to merchant acquisition, portfolio performance, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Utilize data insights for informed decision-making and strategy adjustments.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 5-8 years of experience in fintech, banking, or payments industry.
- Strong experience in online and offline payments, including e-commerce and POS.
- Leadership experience in merchant acquiring, financial services, or related industries.
- Deep understanding of payment processing technologies, industry regulations, and market trends.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Results-driven with a history of achieving and surpassing targets.
