For one of my client, I am currently looking for a Finance Manager in Brussels.


Responsibilities:


  • Create and present financial and tax strategy recommendations to CEO;
  • Support the financial planning and analysis efforts.
  • Oversee cash flow, cash management, working capital, and company audits.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports.
  • Ensure legal compliance on all financial functions.
  • Manage relationships with banks.
  • Oversee the accounting department.


Profielbeschrijving

The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial strategy, financial planning and analysis, financial reports, company audits, compliance, and bank relationships. They will collaborate with the CEO and the executive team to make decisions regarding company's financial strategy and operations. The candidate will possess a strong background in finance and management.


Your profile:


  • Bachelor degree in Accounting.
  • Strong financial-based analytical skills.
  • +10 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Pro activity and eager to learn.
  • French & English (Dutch is a plus).

Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

The CFO plays a pivotal role in steering a company’s financial strategy and ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and accounting frameworks. As the most senior finance executive in the organization, the Head of Finance oversees all aspects of financial planning, reporting, control, and risk management, while serving as a key advisor to the board and investment committee.This role requires deep technical knowledge of IFRS standards – particularly IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 – as well as practical expertise in applying the Premium Allocation Approach (PAA) and the General Measurement Model (GMM) within the insurance sector. While an actuarial background is advantageous, the position fundamentally combines hands-on leadership with strategic financial management.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Management: Lead the entire finance function, ensuring high standards of financial governance, accountability, and performance. Set direction for the finance team, drive execution, and act as the financial steward of the organization at the executive level.Regulatory Reporting: Oversee the preparation and submission of financial reports in compliance with applicable national regulations and standards. Monitor regulatory developments and ensure the company’s financial practices remain consistently aligned.Financial Strategy and Analysis: Develop and implement forward-looking financial strategies to support sustainable business growth. Apply financial modeling and scenario planning, particularly within the IFRS 17 framework (PAA and GMM), to guide decision-making and performance evaluation.Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary financial counterpart to the board, investment committee, and other governance bodies. Deliver financial insights and strategic recommendations that support high-quality executive and board-level decision-making.Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure the company’s financial operations adhere to regulatory, accounting, and internal control requirements. Develop and maintain risk mitigation strategies to protect financial stability and corporate assets.Investment Accounting: Oversee the treatment and presentation of investment portfolios in line with accounting standards such as IFRS 9. Ensure appropriate valuation, classification, and reporting of financial instruments.Financial Planning and Analysis: Lead the development of comprehensive financial models and planning tools to simulate business scenarios, assess capital needs, and support executive decisions. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial KPIs, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow analysis.

Senior Financial Crime Risk Manager

Senior Financial Crime Risk Manager oversees the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks related to financial crime within the organization. This role ensures robust practices in line with regulatory expectations to protect the business from credit, fraud, and compliance risks.Manage credit risk exposure by evaluating internal controls and credit processes to prevent financial losses arising from financial crime or non-compliance.Lead risk assessment activities concerning Anti-Money Laundering (AML), fraud prevention, and regulatory compliance, integrating industry best practices and regulatory updates.Oversee compliance monitoring frameworks to ensure operations meet external regulatory requirements, including but not limited to AML, Know Your Customer (KYC), and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) procedures.Develop and implement risk management protocols supporting ongoing detection and escalation of suspicious activities.Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including compliance, legal, operations, and technology—on system enhancements for risk identification and mitigation.Prepare reports and present findings or risk gaps to senior management and regulatory bodies as required.Strong command of English is required for documentation and communication purposes.

Head of Accounting

As Head of Accounting, you will oversee the company’s full accounting operations, managing a team of eight professionals. Your primary focus will be on fund accounting , ensuring compliance and accuracy in all financial recording and reporting. Working closely with senior management, you’ll guide the department in accordance with best practices and applicable regulations.Lead general accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and closing processes.Ensure timely preparation and delivery of financial statements and reports, following IFRS and local regulations.Oversee tax law compliance for all relevant entities, in conjunction with external stakeholders.Manage and reinforce motivational leadership within the team, supporting professional growth and maintaining strong staff engagement.Coordinate and supervise internal and external audits, ensuring audit readiness and the timely resolution of findings.Support financial planning tasks, including budgeting and financial analysis as needed.Interact with clients and stakeholders, primarily Dutch-speaking but with sufficient command of French to operate effectively in a bilingual setting.Ensure ongoing compliance with ITAA requirements; progress towards certification within one year is acceptable.The typical environment emphasizes stability, human values, and flexible working, within a prominent firm in the insurance sector.

Accounting Manager – (FR/NL)

Accounting Manager – (FR/NL)This position is responsible for leading the Accounts Payable (AP) and GL accounting activities for a team of approximately 10 finance professionals based in Brussels. The manager will report directly to senior leadership, ensuring oversight and operational excellence in team performance.Lead and coordinate all Accounts Payable processes and support GL accounting activities as needed for seamless financial operations.Supervise and mentor a team, ensuring effective task delegation, follow-up, and continuous improvement in workflows.Serve as a key contact for escalations and complex queries, providing clear guidance and solutions to internal stakeholders and clients.Oversee accurate and timely financial reporting, collaborating with the team and interfacing with leadership for alignment on business priorities.Support project management activities within the accounting function to drive improvements, implement new processes, and ensure compliance with company and statutory requirements.Budgeting, reconciliation, and asset management involvement as part of broader accounting responsibilities.Navigate bilingual (French/Dutch) communications, ensuring professional exchanges with both internal team members and external clients. Junior Accounting Assistant

As a Junior Accounting Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the daily accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy of financial data.
