Junior General Ledger Accountant
As a Junior General Ledger Accountant, you will play an active role in daily accounting operations and support financial integrity within the team. Working closely with other finance professionals, you will be expected to bring your first proven experience in general ledger management, preferably in an accounting firm, ensuring precise and timely documentation.
- General Ledger Management: Handle daily journal entries, account reconciliations, and maintain accuracy across ledgers.
- Financial Support: Assist in preparing and reviewing financial reports, ensuring compliance with both internal guidelines and external regulations.
- Team Collaboration: Work as part of a dynamic, supportive team environment, contributing openly and effectively in both French and English.
- IT Adaptability: Utilize tools like NetSuite or similar systems, demonstrating comfort working within evolving IT environments.
- Continuous Improvement: Suggest and implement improvements to processes as appropriate within established frameworks.
The role targets candidates with up to 4 years of relevant experience, who can immediately contribute in a junior-level support capacity, taking ownership of their day-to-day responsibilities while maintaining a flexible and collaborative approach.
We are looking for candidates who are eager to build on their foundational experience in General Ledger accounting and thrive in a collaborative team environment. The ideal person will be proactive and dynamic, actively contributing to a positive team spirit without an individualistic or know-it-all attitude. We value humility, curiosity, and a willingness to learn and take direction, while also bringing energy and initiative to their work.
- Experience: Candidates should have gained their first significant professional experience in GL accounting, ideally from a fiduciary or similar context. They should have no more than four years of relevant experience and be ready to work independently on core accounting workflows, but not be overqualified or seeking rapid career progression within the next few years.
- Mindset: We appreciate individuals who can adapt with ease to changing situations and who remain precise and rigorous in their approach. Flexibility and versatility are essential, as the business continues to evolve quickly.
- Interpersonal Skills: The right fit is a strong team player, assertive yet approachable, and communicates effectively in both group and one-on-one settings. We seek someone who engages constructively with colleagues and contributes positively to the overall atmosphere.
- Technical Comfort: Candidates should be comfortable working with IT tools, ideally with prior exposure to platforms such as NetSuite or comparable accounting systems.
- Languages: Full professional proficiency in French is absolutely essential. Candidates must also have a very strong command of English, sufficient to work effectively in both languages as part of a growing, international group.
We are seeking someone who is junior, but confident and ready to take responsibility—someone who is precise, adaptable, and eager to learn and contribute within a supportive team setting.
