Data Analyst - Power BI
Location: Walloon Brabant, 3 days on-site
A growing BI team is seeking an experienced and motivated Data Analyst / Power BI Expert. In this role, you will transform large and complex datasets into actionable insights and develop advanced Power BI solutions to support data-driven decisions across the organization. This role is based in Walloon Brabant, with opportunities to actively contribute to a dynamic, fast-evolving company environment.
Key Responsibilities
Advanced Power BI Development
- Design, develop, and maintain complex Power BI reports and dashboards, leveraging advanced DAX functions, complex measures, and efficient data modeling techniques
- Optimize report performance for large datasets, ensuring efficient data loading, processing, and visualization
- Implement row-level security and other security measures to protect data integrity and confidentiality
- Develop and maintain custom visuals and extensions to enhance reporting capabilities
Data Analysis and Visualization
- Analyze large and complex datasets from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights
- Create compelling and informative data visualizations that effectively communicate key findings to stakeholders
- Establish data quality checks and validation procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability
Collaboration and Mentorship
- Work closely with data engineers for seamless data integration and preparation for analysis
- Mentor junior data analysts on Power BI best practices and advanced techniques
- Participate actively in knowledge sharing to contribute to the team’s overall expertise
Profile
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
- Over 5 years of experience as a Data Analyst, with a strong focus on Power BI development
- Proven experience with large, complex datasets in data warehousing and big data environments
- Strong understanding of data modeling, including dimensional modeling and star schema design
Technical Skills
- Expert-level Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service skills, including advanced DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling capabilities
- Strong SQL skills with experience in querying and manipulating data from multiple database systems
- Knowledge of performance optimization techniques for Power BI reports
- Understanding of data security best practices in Power BI
Plus Points
- Experience with other visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik Sense)
- Knowledge of Python or R scripting
- Familiarity with cloud-based platforms (Azure, AWS)
- Microsoft Power BI certifications
Experience: 3 to 5 years
Language: French is essential; English at least B2 level
