Cost Accountant
Our client is a leading public company specializing in the distribution industry. Known for their commitment to excellence and innovation, they are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Cost Accountant to join their dynamic team.
Position Overview:
The Cost Accountant will play a crucial role in managing and analyzing cost-related financial information. This individual will work closely with various departments to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting, providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Analysis & Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze cost reports, budgets, and financial forecasts.
- Monitor and report on cost variances, identifying trends and providing recommendations for cost control.
- Cost Management:
- Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, procedures, and policies.
- Ensure accurate costing of inventory and products, including standard costing and variance analysis.
- Financial Coordination:
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather data and insights for accurate cost allocation.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
- Compliance & Improvement:
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in cost accounting.
Work Environment:
- Location: Hybrid (Nuns Island, Quebec)
- Work Schedule: Full-Time, Permanent

Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within the distribution industry.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation is an asset.
- Skills:
- Strong proficiency in cost accounting principles and practices.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Languages:
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Comprehensive spoken and written French.
