General Accountant – Oracle ERP & UK/IFRS/BE GAAP

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and execute general accounting operations, including accurate management of accounts payable and monthly/annual closing processes.
  • Ensure timely and compliant preparation of VAT declarations and coordinate with external service providers on financial matters.
  • Utilize and manage workflows within the Oracle ERP system, ensuring integrity of accounting data and process efficiency.
  • Apply practical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and BE GAAP standards within daily accounting activities and reporting.
  • Participate in the automation and optimization of accounting and payroll processes, including follow-up of payroll transactions and implementation of improvements.
  • Maintain strict adherence to financial deadlines, specifically the monthly closing and the year-end closing at March 31.

Scope:

  • General accounting tasks across an international environment, with focus on group reporting and compliance.
  • Close interaction with internal teams and external fiduciaries for process optimization and data validation.

Languages: Primary business language: English. Proficiency in French or Dutch is considered an asset.

    • Practical knowledge in VAT management
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting alongside substantial hands-on experience
  • Language skills:
    • Fluent English (mandatory)
    • Working knowledge of French or Dutch is considered a strong plus

Junior Accountant – Process Automation & Optimization

Position Overview:This role is responsible for supporting the Financial Controller by combining bookkeeping duties with process automation and optimization initiatives. The Junior Accountant will focus substantially on automating workflows and streamlining internal accounting processes within a 6-month contract, potentially leading to a permanent position.Main Duties:Lead or assist in process improvement projects, such as analyzing and redesigning expense reimbursement workflows.Research and implement automation tools to increase efficiency across accounting functions.Develop scripts and automation solutions, primarily using Python, with possible involvement in VBA-based projects, to reduce repetitive manual tasks.Support daily bookkeeping activities (including general ledger, financial statement preparation, and reconciliations) during peak periods or team absences.Contribute to ongoing enhancements in internal controls and overall financial operations.Scope and Focus:Approximately 70% of responsibilities revolve around process optimization and automation.Remainder devoted to traditional bookkeeping tasks.Expected to work 37.5 hours per week on a 6-month contract with potential for extension or permanence.Technical & Functional Requirements:Python programming skills are essential, particularly for automation.
