This role leads and oversees all government relations activities across the UAE, serving as the principal point of contact with government authorities and regulatory bodies. The Government Relations Manager ensures full compliance with local regulations, advises leadership on regulatory risks and legislative changes, and drives strategic initiatives to strengthen the organization's standing with government stakeholders. The position requires managing complex visa, immigration, and compliance processes while maintaining operational efficiency and proactive engagement with key government entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team responsible for handling visas, labor permits, and government processes
  • Represent the organization with government entities and in all regulatory matters
  • Monitor and interpret UAE laws and regulations, advising leadership on compliance risks and legislative changes
  • Oversee licenses, permits, and official documentation, ensuring timely renewals and regulatory compliance
  • Ensure full compliance with UAE labor laws, Emiratization requirements, and social security obligations
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with key government stakeholders and regulatory bodies
  • Drive process improvements and operational efficiency across government relations functions

Candidate Profile

We are looking for an experienced government relations professional with deep expertise in UAE regulatory frameworks and a proven track record of managing complex compliance and immigration matters. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership capabilities, strategic thinking, and the ability to navigate a fast-paced environment while building and maintaining high-level government relationships. Fluency in both Arabic and English is essential, along with exceptional organizational and communication skills.

Experience & Expertise Required:

  • 8 or more years of professional experience in UAE government relations
  • Strong, comprehensive knowledge of UAE regulations with particular expertise in Abu Dhabi
  • Proven experience managing visa, immigration, and compliance processes
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage complex regulatory projects
  • Fluency in both Arabic and English (written and spoken)
