Position Overview

This role is responsible for leading the optimized maintenance management and lifecycle performance of advanced transit systems assets. The position encompasses automated train control, automated fare collection, platform safety systems, and communications infrastructure, including operational control and on-board equipment. The role is accountable for delivering asset maintenance against established business key performance indicators, maintenance schedules, and reliability requirements, while continuously improving maintenance quality and efficiency. The position also manages planning for repairs, overhauls, and obsolescence management in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, allocate, and manage resources to deliver effective maintenance and technical services across the systems portfolio in accordance with agreed key performance indicators
• Organize rapid first-line response and provide twenty-four-hour on-call leadership for departmental incidents and emergencies
• Lead, develop, and motivate the systems maintenance team through effective management, training, and competency development
• Ensure tools, spare parts, and materials are planned, requested, and procured in line with maintenance requirements
• Drive cooperation with operations, engineering, and maintenance functions, contractors, client representatives, and other stakeholders
• Maintain procedures and technical documentation, improve maintenance data quality in management systems, and support health, safety, environmental, customer, and asset management requirements
• Own budgetary and financial performance, identify efficiencies, and support maintenance standards, operational excellence, cost modeling, and asset management certification activities

Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will possess a degree or higher diploma in electrical, information technology, electronics, telecommunications engineering, or an equivalent discipline. A minimum of ten years of relevant systems maintenance experience is required, including at least four years in a supervisory or management capacity within a rail environment, with experience in transit systems highly desirable.

• Practical experience with asset management systems, maintenance repositories, and maintenance budget control and optimization
• Strong knowledge of railway operations and maintenance safety requirements

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage complex information and competing priorities
• Capacity to make prompt, unbiased decisions in time-sensitive or emergency conditions
