Senior QHSE Manager – Logistics and Port Development Project
Location: Red Sea Coast, Saudi Arabia

Contract: Freelance, USD-based
Rotation: 6 weeks on / 4 weeks off
Schedule: 12 hours/day, 6 days/week
Responsible for overseeing all QHSE aspects of a large-scale logistics and port development project, this position leads on-site teams by implementing and optimising quality, health, safety, and environment systems in line with international and local regulations. Acts as the principal site contact for QHSE, managing compliance, risk, and continual improvement processes while coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Supervise QHSE teams, ensuring robust site-wide process compliance.
- Lead audits, manage non-conformities, and ensure prompt resolution of findings.
- Develop and enforce QHSE procedures and policies aligned with project scope and best practices.
- Conduct comprehensive site risk assessments, prepare detailed reports, and oversee accurate documentation.
- Promote a proactive approach to safety and environmental issues at all times on site.
- Utilise QHSE compliance software, audit tools, and risk assessment platforms to monitor and improve performance.
- Facilitate effective communication and coordination across project teams, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
Requirements for the role include substantial prior experience (10+ years) in QHSE functions within construction, EPC, or heavy industry environments and 3+ years in a managerial health and safety position. NEBOSH and CMIOSH certifications are mandatory. Fluency in English is required, with Arabic language skills considered beneficial. Technical proficiency should include QHSE compliance software, risk assessment, environmental procedural knowledge, industrial hygiene, and audit coordination using platforms such as TeamMate Audit. Experience with remote, rotational, or complex project environments is preferred. Accommodation and logistics are provided. Compensation will be determined according to profile.

The ideal individual is experienced in high-risk industrial environments and has a proven ability to guide diverse teams, particularly in remote or challenging project locations. Adaptability and presence of mind are essential, as is a passion for fostering positive safety cultures and driving continuous improvement in QHSE standards.
- Demonstrated Leadership: Brings at least a decade of QHSE experience, with a history of managing multifaceted teams in construction, EPC, or heavy industry.
- Technical Expertise: Holds mandatory NEBOSH and CMIOSH certifications, with deep knowledge of QHSE compliance frameworks, international standards, and audit protocols.
- Analytical Mindset: Exceptionally skilled in risk assessment and incident analysis, using systematic approaches and QHSE compliance software to ensure robust site standards.
- Strong Communicator: Fluent in English and comfortable leading critical dialogues with internal and external stakeholders; Arabic proficiency is an asset.
- Adaptable & Composed: Thrives in fast-paced, rotation-based project settings, maintaining composure and decisiveness while balancing multiple priorities on site.
- Quality & Detail-Oriented: Naturally detail-driven, diligent in upholding quality and compliance, and comfortable leveraging audit tools such as TeamMate Audit.
- Collaborative & Influential: Inspires a proactive attitude towards safety among team members and demonstrates effective stakeholder engagement skills, fostering collaboration across cultures and functions.
- Credentialed & Experienced: Recognized as a Certified Industrial Hygienist with substantial experience in occupational health and wellness practices.
