Position Overview:

The Shipping Manager oversees all country-level shipping operations, ensuring smooth execution, team supervision, and alignment with business objectives. Reporting to the Country General Manager and Group COO, the role is fully based in West Africa.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily shipping operations and ensure timely, high-quality execution.
  • Supervise and develop local teams (Supervisors, Officers, Coordinators, Agents).
  • Coordinate with Finance on cash flow, file closures, and collections.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and support business development.
  • Ensure compliance with HSQE standards and maintain operational documentation.
  • Monitor performance, implement controls, and support continuous improvement.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for experienced leaders with a strong background in shipping, logistics, or transport, and a proven ability to manage teams in fast-paced, operational environments.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar leadership role (e.g. Shipping Manager, General Manager, Agency Manager).
  • Experience in Africa is mandatory.
  • Fluency in English required; French is a strong plus.
