Finance Director (UAE National)
Role Overview
The Finance Director is responsible for leading the organisation’s financial strategy, governance, and long-term financial performance. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the role oversees Finance, Audit & Cash, and Procurement functions within a complex, KPI-driven operating environment.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Lead financial strategy, planning, and performance management. Act as a trusted advisor to the Managing Director and senior leadership on financial, commercial, and risk matters. Partner closely with the executive team to support strategic initiatives, business planning, and investment decisions.
Financial Management
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and financial modelling. Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow). Monitor financial performance, analyse variances, and recommend sustainable improvement actions. Support revenue optimisation and cost efficiency initiatives.
Governance, Audit & Compliance
Establish and maintain robust financial controls, policies, and procedures. Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax regulations, and internal governance standards. Lead internal and external audit processes and oversee financial systems, ERP platforms, and reporting tools.
Operations & Commercial Oversight
Lead and develop Finance, Audit & Cash, and Procurement functions. Oversee cash flow management, banking facilities, and liquidity planning. Provide commercial oversight on contracts, vendors, and service providers, supporting negotiations from a financial and risk perspective.
Stakeholder & Business Partnership
Provide clear, proactive financial insights and reporting to senior leadership and governing bodies. Act as a collaborative business partner across functions and manage finance-related engagement with external stakeholders as required.
People Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop multi-disciplinary teams across finance-related functions. Promote accountability, ethical conduct, and continuous professional development, with a strong focus on retaining and growing high-potential national talent.
Key Challenge
Managing financial performance and recovery within a structured, KPI-driven environment while ensuring long-term financial sustainability.
Required Competencies
Technical
Strong expertise in financial management, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Solid understanding of IFRS, tax compliance, risk management, and cost control. Experience with ERP systems, financial modelling, and data analysis tools.
Behavioural
Strategic thinker with sound judgement and balanced decision-making. Clear communicator able to translate complex financial matters for non-financial stakeholders. Trusted, credible leader with strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills. High ethical standards and a collaborative leadership style.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Professional certification (CPA, CMA, or equivalent) preferred. Master’s degree desirable.
Minimum 15 years of finance experience within large, international or complex organisations, including senior financial operations and leadership roles. Exposure to corporate governance, financial control, audit, and contract management. Experience managing support functions such as Procurement and IT in complex environments.
Other Requirements
Fluent in English. UAE National.
