Head of Mission – Venturing
This senior-level role is accountable for spearheading entrepreneurial ventures and cultivating strategic partnerships with a focus on driving innovation, growth, and sustainability. The position involves leading business development and investment initiatives, building relationships with venture capital entities, providing innovation leadership, and steering high-impact projects through multifaceted risk and financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the identification, evaluation, and formation of strategic venture partnerships to drive organizational growth and diversified investment portfolios.
- Lead negotiations and relationship management efforts with venture capital partners and other key external stakeholders.
- Direct the strategic planning and execution of entrepreneurial initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall organizational objectives.
- Develop and implement risk management frameworks for venture activities, ensuring project viability and risk mitigation across all stages.
- Provide senior-strategy advisory on innovation management, championing new business models, market entries, and scalable technologies.
- Oversee financial analysis for proposed and ongoing ventures to support data-driven decision-making and optimize returns.
- Drive business development strategies aimed at sourcing new markets, identifying growth opportunities, and increasing revenue streams.
- Guide multidisciplinary teams, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring resource alignment with business priorities.
- Advise executive leadership on emerging trends, market analysis, and investment opportunities to reinforce strategic positioning.
- Facilitate strategic negotiation processes for new partnerships, joint ventures, and innovation projects as required.

- Responsible for shaping venture pipelines, building value-driven alliances, and managing complex projects from concept to execution.
- Engagement with internal teams and high-profile external partners including venture capital, industry leaders, and innovation networks.

Languages:
- Fluency in English
- Professional proficiency in French
• 10+ years in venture capital, venture building, innovation strategy, or startup support.
• Strong exposure to investment processes: startup due diligence, portfolio management, deal structuring, and investor relations.
• Experience working with universities, public innovation agencies, or deep tech founders is a significant asset.
• Demonstrated track record of building founder-investor pipelines or managing funding instruments (VC fund, grant facility, innovation hub).
• Fluency in startup investment dynamics: from valuation and cap tables to term sheets and governance.
• Excellent networker and relationship builder with proven ability to engage VCs, LPs, and corporates.
• Sharp analytical and financial modeling capabilities; able to coach founders and assess startups with investor precision.
• Strategic thinker with capacity to translate institutional goals into scalable innovation initiatives.
• Strong communication and representation skills—credible with both founders and board-level stakeholders.
