Department Head – Electronics & Electrical Production
Position Overview
This senior role is focused on production engineering within a manufacturing environment, with a strong emphasis on implementing and supporting Lean Manufacturing principles. The position is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations, driving process enhancements, and ensuring seamless production output while upholding safety and quality standards.
Primary Functions & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage end-to-end production planning activities to ensure optimal use of resources and timely delivery of products.
- Coordinate and supervise the production team, overseeing people management and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing concepts to streamline operations, minimize waste, and increase process efficiency throughout the production line.
- Establish and maintain effective quality control systems, ensuring consistent product standards and adherence to regulations.
- Identify, implement, and monitor process improvements designed to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve safety.
- Oversee machine safety systems across the facility, taking responsibility for compliance with safety protocols and risk mitigation measures.
- Generate and maintain comprehensive technical documentation related to manufacturing processes, equipment, and procedures.
- Contribute technical expertise in electrical engineering to support interdisciplinary production projects as needed.

The ideal candidate demonstrates a hands-on approach to leadership and is passionate about developing both processes and people to drive continuous improvement.
- Experienced People Leader: You excel in managing, coaching, and motivating multidisciplinary teams on a production floor, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
- Technical Savvy: You have a deep understanding of production processes—particularly in electronics and electricity—and are comfortable with the technical aspects of machinery, safety, and workflow optimization.
- Continuous Improvement Mindset: You are well-versed in Lean Manufacturing principles, including 5S and Kaizen, and actively seek ways to enhance operational efficiency and quality standards.
- Strong Production Background: You bring solid experience from production environments, regardless of the sector, and easily adapt your knowledge to new settings and challenges.
- Effective Communicator: You are fluent in both Dutch and English, enabling you to easily interact with all levels of the organization. Knowledge of French is an advantage, but not a requirement.
- Decisive and Resourceful: You respond efficiently to urgent issues, make sound decisions under pressure, and handle emergencies without needing to work standard shifts.
- Organized and Analytical: Your ability to set clear priorities, coordinate with other departments, and ensure accurate documentation enhances team performance and production results.
- Quality and Safety Advocate: You are committed to maintaining the highest standards of product quality and workplace safety through consistent coaching and example-based leadership.
- Adaptable and Open-Minded: You welcome candidates from any sector, as long as they bring a solid foundation in production management and the right drive to make an immediate impact.
- Flexible Commuter: You appreciate the opportunity to combine on-site work with up to two days of remote work weekly.
