IT Owner / Business Analyst (Insurance Sector)
Summary: The IT Owner / Business Analyst plays a critical role in bridging business and IT for a mid-size company in the insurance sector. The position is responsible for managing a portfolio of applications and acting as the main liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring solutions align with both operational needs and technical capabilities.
- Act as the interface between business teams and IT, translating functional requirements into detailed technical specifications.
- Manage and document a portfolio of applications, ensuring both functional and technical documentation are consistently maintained and up to date.
- Lead and participate in meetings with business stakeholders to clarify new initiatives, capture change requests, and define priorities.
- Work closely with developers, project managers, and solution delivery teams to drive end-to-end delivery of IT solutions.
- Participate in troubleshooting and debugging of applications, supporting the resolution of technical issues as needed.
- Synthesize business needs and perform business & functional analysis to ensure accurate and effective solution design.
- Define and monitor KPIs to track, report, and optimize application and process performance.
- Contribute to best practices and help to establish internal standards with your 10-person team.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as either a Business Analyst with a technical (development) background, or as a Developer aiming to move into a business-focused role.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in French or Dutch is considered a strong asset.
- Prior experience in the insurance industry is a plus.
- Proficiency in stakeholder management, requirements gathering, and functional analysis.
- Strong communication skills and ability to produce clear technical and business documentation.
- Experience with debugging, application analysis, and defining business intelligence KPIs.
- Ability to synthesize requirements and translate them into actionable IT solutions.

- Strong command of English is mandatory; proficiency in French or Dutch is considered a valuable asset and enhances collaboration in an international environment.
- Prior experience in the insurance sector is a plus, demonstrating the ability to rapidly understand industry processes and regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to synthesize requirements, perform functional analysis, and define measurable KPIs that drive project success.
- Keen problem-solving attitude, with experience in debugging and troubleshooting, and the initiative to support development and delivery teams as needed.
- Competence in stakeholder management—adept at facilitating discussions, managing expectations, and acting as a trusted advisor to both business and IT colleagues.
- Motivated to document solutions, maintain accurate records, and share knowledge within a collaborative team of 10 professionals supporting shared best practices.
- Open-minded, adaptable, and eager to keep up-to-date with evolving methodologies and technologies in ICT and business intelligence.
