For one of our partner active in the banking sector in Antwerp, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. You will play a crucial role in the preparation of annual reports, bank reconciliations, and account reconciliations. Your analytical skills will be essential in analyzing financial data and providing insights to support decision-making. The successful candidate will also assist in budgeting and cost accounting, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.


Job Description: Cost Accountant

Responsibilities:

  • Perform monthly closings
  • Handle incoming invoices and payments
  • Prepare annual financial statements
  • Utilize Business Central/Navision and Excel for accounting tasks
  • Prepare VAT returns (BEGAAP, LUXGAAP, NLGAAP)
  • Understand and apply VAT regulations
  • Monitor and discuss budgets
  • Analyze costs
  • Prepare financial reports
  • Support audits and collaborate with business partners

Your Profile as a Cost Accountant:


  • You are dynamic, pragmatic and proactive
  • You possess strong communication skills and have a team spirit
  • You have experience with Business Central / Navision
  • You have knowledge of VAT legislation in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg, or are willing to learn
  • You have a healthy critical mindset and are analytically inclined
  • You are fluent in both Dutch and French
  • You have min 4 years' experience as an Accountant

Junior Accountant – Process Automation & Optimization

Position Overview:This role is responsible for supporting the Financial Controller by combining bookkeeping duties with process automation and optimization initiatives. Position Overview:As Team Lead Accounting & Administration in Insurance sector, you oversee and optimize the accounting and administrative operations associated with both Life and Non-Life reinsurance activities. Integrated within the Broker Channel & Non-Life Insurance Development department, this role focuses on ensuring accurate, comprehensive, and well-documented accounting and financial information flows.Lead day-to-day accounting operations including period-end closings (premiums, claims, provisions, deposits).Supervise reporting activities such as financial statement preparation, Solvency II & IFRS regulatory reports, forecasting, budget management, and reports for cross-border activities.Coordinate acceptance of third-party business and guarantee compliance and traceability of all administrative processes.Oversee data collection, recording, and analysis to assure information reliability and the evolution of tools, processes, and deliverables as the business transforms.Drive process optimization and data standardization to support operational excellence, collaborating with interconnected departments such as Risk and Financial Control.Support your team of four in adopting process change, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment across functions.Apply business controlling and financial data management methods to monitor cost accounting and deliver relevant business insights.Utilize business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, SAS, R, Python) for advanced analysis and reporting enhancement.Tasks are conducted in a multilingual environment (French, Dutch, and English), requiring effective leadership in directing, supporting, and motivating the team, while working autonomously and maintaining organised, controlled processes.
