Financial Controller
As a Financial Controller, you are responsible for overseeing the financial policy and budgetary processes of our organization. You play a key role in ensuring the transparency, efficiency, and reliability of all financial reporting activities.
- Manage overall coherence and clarity of financial reports, ensuring data is consistent and actionable.
- Serve as the main point of contact on financial matters with internal teams, the external accounting firm, and external auditors.
- Closely monitor the monthly accounting reporting process in collaboration with the external accounting partner.
- Establish and track dynamic plans and forecasts, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Analyze group cash flows and implement thorough financial controls as necessary.
- Coordinate and oversee SOx compliance, guaranteeing that all group standards are thoroughly applied. This includes mapping processes impacting financial reporting, assessing the adequacy and performance of existing controls, updating documentation, and organizing control tests.
- Maintain effective communication with stakeholders—ensuring all financial information is clear, precise, and timely delivered.
This position reports directly to the CEO and involves regular, high-quality interactions with both internal and external partners. The scope includes working within a dynamic, people-focused organization and handling obligations in a trilingual environment (Dutch, French, and English). This role offers the opportunity to work remotely for half of the week and benefits from a competitive, frequently adjusted compensation package.
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate a strong analytical mindset and thrive when given responsibility for ensuring financial transparency and reliability. You approach complex financial data and processes with clarity and thoroughness, always aiming for accuracy and efficiency in managing reporting activities.
- You are academically accomplished with a master’s degree in economics or finance, and have developed your skills through at least five years of hands-on experience in financial control and budgeting.
- Your communication skills set you apart: you are trilingual (Dutch, French, and English), with the confidence to engage fluently and professionally with a wide range of stakeholders, including external accounting firms, group finance teams, and auditors.
- Collaboration comes naturally to you; you build and nurture productive relationships across different parties, ensuring smooth coordination and open lines of communication.
- Known for your proactivity, you anticipate challenges, identify opportunities for improvement, and are always looking for ways to enhance reporting processes and controls.
- Your mastery of Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools empowers you to quickly analyze information, deep-dive into budgets, and track cash flows with precision.
- You have a strong understanding of SOx requirements and bring experience in ensuring compliance, process mapping, and documentation associated with internal controls.
- Highly organized and methodical, you expertly balance detailed oversight with a broader, strategic perspective on financial matters.
- You value teamwork but are also motivated and resourceful when working independently—adapting easily to a hybrid environment with a mix of in-office and remote work.
- Above all, you are motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a dynamic, people-focused organization, and you seek a role where your expertise will directly contribute to business success.
