MES Engineer – Siemens OpCenter Pharma Specialist
Role Overview: As an MES (Manufacturing Execution System) Engineer specializing in Siemens OpCenter Execution Pharma, you will support the automation team in the design, development, and start-up of a new plasma purification production line. Your expertise will focus on on-site commissioning activities, testing, and validation, ensuring all MES applications meet project and industry requirements.
- Coordinate between the engineering team and System Integrator MES programmers during project start-up after application delivery.
- Participate in MES test executions on the shop floor, directly supporting field engineers in resolving MES issues encountered during commissioning phases.
- Execute tests in the MES validation environment and accurately complete associated validation protocols using KNEAT or similar systems.
- Implement corrections related to identified commissioning punch items and review technical solutions provided by the System Integrator, guaranteeing adherence to programming guidelines and project standards.
- Ensure compliance with best practices for MES development and integration, as relevant to the pharmaceutical production environment.
- Work primarily on-site at Takeda Lessines (minimum three days per week), with partial homeworking possible depending on project activity.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or engineering degree in Computer Science, Automation, or a related discipline, or equivalent proven experience.
- Practical knowledge of MES Siemens OpCenter Execution Pharma and pharmaceutical industry standards is essential.
- Proven background in virtual commissioning, integration testing, and MES system validation.
- Professional proficiency in both French and English is required.
- Familiarity with batch process manufacturing is considered an asset.

- Background: Holds a bachelor’s or engineering degree in Computer Science, Automation, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Industry Experience: Has hands-on experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a deep understanding of its rigorous standards and compliance requirements.
- Technical Mastery: Demonstrates strong expertise with Siemens OpCenter Execution Pharma (MES) and has a robust grasp of virtual commissioning, integration testing, and the implementation of MES solutions.
- Communication Skills: Communicates confidently and clearly in both French and English, enabling effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Adaptable & Flexible: Can balance on-site presence with remote work, adapting to project needs while maintaining focus and drive.
- Continuous Learner: Stays updated with evolving MES technologies, pharmaceutical industry trends, and quality standards, eager to further develop professional skills.
- Asset: Experience with batch process environments is considered an additional advantage.
