Pricing Analyst
Position Overview:
The Pricing Analyst is a key member of the Underwriting Team, reporting directly to the Head of Underwriting. Responsible for establishing technical quotations in line with group underwriting policy, sales strategy, and compliance requirements, this role supports decision-making processes through the delivery of comprehensive account and claims documentation. The Pricing Analyst manages claims performance and spearheads initiatives to improve outcomes where necessary. Duties extend to repricing existing business for renewals and renegotiations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish technical quotations in compliance with group underwriting policy, sales strategy, and regulatory guidelines.
- Prepare detailed documentation for account and claims control to assist sales and management decision-making.
- Monitor and analyze claims performance, developing improvement measures as required.
- Lead repricing activities for business renewals and renegotiations.
- Participate in risk assessment, claims management, reinsurance negotiation, and policy development.
- Analyze and interpret data, utilizing IT tools such as Microsoft Excel for reporting and modeling.
- Review and work with legal and insurance documentation, ensuring adherence to insurance law and compliance standards.
- Coordinate efforts within the team, supporting cross-functional objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics, finance, mathematics, law, or a related field.
- At least three years of experience in the insurance or finance sector within underwriting, sales administration, or finance.
- Proficiency with numbers, raw data, and technical documentation.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and related IT tools.
- Competence in interpreting insurance terms, contract wordings, and compliance documentation.
- Effective team coordination skills and ability to collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Professional proficiency in Dutch, French (or good knowledge of the other national language), and English.

- Educational background: Holds a bachelor’s or master’s degree in economics, finance, mathematics, law, or a related field, with a solid academic foundation in relevant subjects.
- Industry experience: Brings at least three years of professional experience in the insurance or finance sector, ideally within underwriting, sales administration, or finance, and has a demonstrated ability to navigate claims management and policy development processes.
- Numeracy and IT proficiency: Comfortable working with large data sets and skilled in Microsoft Excel and related IT tools; continuously seeks to optimize quantitative analysis and reporting.
- Affiliation with compliance and legal frameworks: Experienced in reviewing and interpreting insurance terms, contractual wordings, and legal documentation to ensure adherence to internal and regulatory standards.
- Communication and collaboration: An open communicator who can clearly articulate findings, supports collaborative decision-making, and builds constructive relationships across teams.
- Autonomous and self-driven: Demonstrates a high level of independence, proactively manages priorities, and reliably delivers results without close supervision.
- Language proficiency: Conversant in Dutch, and exhibits strong verbal and written command of both French and English, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues, stakeholders, and external partners.
- Technical writing & documentation: Excels at creating precise and actionable documentation to support the underwriting, pricing, and claims management processes.
- Negotiation and coordination: Brings practical experience in reinsurance negotiation and team coordination, showing a collaborative approach toward achieving shared objectives and navigating complex discussions.
