Team Leader - Bodily Injury Claims
Job Description
My client's administrative team, inspectors, and claims managers are committed to providing clients with independent advice and defending them in disputes. They are seeking a Team Leader for Personal Injury Claims to strengthen their Brussels-based department and lead a French-speaking team. In this role, you will oversee daily operations, drive team performance, and ensure the delivery of high-quality legal claims management. You will combine strategic oversight with hands-on technical expertise in complex legal matters, fostering a culture of proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of legal protection claims managers, directing daily activities and ensuring alignment with departmental objectives
- Develop, motivate, and coach team members to meet service, quality, and timeline standards through individual goal-setting, team meetings, performance reviews, and ongoing professional development
- Analyze complex legal questions and provide technical guidance on claims management, particularly in civil liability, contract law, and personal injury assessment
- Foster a proactive work environment that encourages continuous improvement initiatives and solution-oriented approaches to claims handling
- Maintain regular contact with brokers and banking partners to ensure strong external relationships and service delivery
- Collaborate with colleagues and senior management to implement departmental strategy and cascade organizational priorities to the team
Candidate Profile
They are looking for candidates who combine strong legal expertise with natural leadership abilities. You should be a seasoned manager with the drive to build high-performing teams while maintaining hands-on involvement in complex claims analysis. Your background in law and insurance, combined with your solution-oriented mindset and organizational excellence, will enable you to guide your team toward measurable results and sustainable business growth.
Experience & Expertise Required:
- Legal background with several years of professional experience at the Bar or with another legal protection insurer
- Demonstrated expertise in civil liability, contract law, and personal injury damage assessment
- Proven track record in claims management and legal advisory services
- Strong understanding of independent legal protection principles and claims handling best practices
