For one of my client, we are currently looking for a Senior Legal Counsel:
Job Description
As Senior Legal Counsel Belgium, you will work from their head office in Limburg (100% remote work possible), and become part of the European Legal Team managed from Paris.
You act as a trusted legal advisor to senior management, head office departments and the management teams of our Belgian parks. With your legal expertise, you help the business move forward by translating complex legal matters into clear, pragmatic and future-oriented solutions. Your role is central to ensuring that the European activities operate with strong legal foundations while supporting their mission to create meaningful moments and foster a culture of growth and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise the senior management and different departments on legal matters within the Belgian organisation, providing strategic guidance on complex issues
- Support construction projects and related building contracts, with environmental, social and governance (ESG) components as an important focus
- Draft, review and negotiate agency and distribution agreements with sales partners to ensure favourable terms and legal compliance
- Identify legal risks, safeguard the interests of the organisation and contribute to strong compliance and security procedures across all operations
- Work closely with departments such as Procurement, PR and Marketing, providing legal advice that is practical and business-oriented
- Ensure adherence to Belgian law and relevant regulations across all business activities and contractual arrangements
Candidate Profile
They are looking for candidates who combine strong legal expertise with a pragmatic, business-oriented mindset. You should be a trusted advisor capable of translating complex legal concepts into clear, actionable guidance. We seek someone who is proactive in identifying risks, collaborative in working across departments, and committed to supporting sustainable and responsible business practices. Your background should demonstrate both technical legal proficiency and the interpersonal skills needed to influence and support senior leadership and diverse teams.
Experience & Expertise Required:
- Master's degree in Belgian law, preferably with specialisation in private, real estate and/or corporate law
- At least 4 years of recent and relevant legal experience in a law firm or business environment
- Broad knowledge of contract, consumer and real estate law
- Demonstrated experience with ESG projects and regulatory compliance matters
- Strong understanding of construction and building contract law
- Proficiency in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements
