Job description

Join a renowned international bank as a Financial Controller in our dynamic financial department. You will play a crucial role in supporting our financial processes and reporting while ensuring the effectiveness of our internal controls.

  • Prepare monthly closings and financial reports.
  • Analyze budget variances and propose recommendations.
  • Monitor key financial indicators (KPIs).
  • Participate in budget and forecast preparations.
  • Optimize internal control processes.
  • Provide support during internal and external audits.

We require proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Business Intelligence Tools such as Power BI and Tableau for effective financial analysis and reporting. A Master’s degree in finance, economics, or business management is essential, coupled with 4-6 years of experience in financial control or auditing. Fluency in English and either French or Dutch is mandatory.

Junior Accountant – Process Automation & Optimization

Position Overview:This role is responsible for supporting the Financial Controller by combining bookkeeping duties with process automation and optimization initiatives. The Junior Accountant will focus substantially on automating workflows and streamlining internal accounting processes within a 6-month contract, potentially leading to a permanent position.Main Duties:Lead or assist in process improvement projects, such as analyzing and redesigning expense reimbursement workflows.Research and implement automation tools to increase efficiency across accounting functions.Develop scripts and automation solutions, primarily using Python, with possible involvement in VBA-based projects, to reduce repetitive manual tasks.Support daily bookkeeping activities (including general ledger, financial statement preparation, and reconciliations) during peak periods or team absences.Contribute to ongoing enhancements in internal controls and overall financial operations.Scope and Focus:Approximately 70% of responsibilities revolve around process optimization and automation.Remainder devoted to traditional bookkeeping tasks.Expected to work 37.5 hours per week on a 6-month contract with potential for extension or permanence.Technical & Functional Requirements:Python programming skills are essential, particularly for automation.
