Position Overview: Air Import Agent

As an Air Import Agent, you'll support the local implementation of the department's strategy and ensure smooth, timely movement of freight and information. Reporting to the Air Import Lead Agent, Supervisor, and/or Manager, your role will focus on providing exceptional customer service and ensuring efficient operations within the Air Import department.

Profile description

Key Responsibilities

·      Oversee the smooth and timely progression of the freight process.

·      Enter data accurately and promptly into the operating system.

·      Monitor and track Air Import shipments through internal systems or by checking airline websites and contacting airline offices as needed.

·      Regularly use Tree View as part of daily tasks.

·      Ensure that import shipments are delivered to customers on time.

·      Ensure all necessary documents are promptly sent to customers or brokers for customs processing.

·      Handle accurate and timely billing for both clients and vendors.

·      Engage with customers to organize their international shipments, ensuring top-tier customer service is provided.

·      Foster and maintain strong relationships with vendors, including airlines, trucking companies, and others.

·      Ensure compliance with all regulations, including internal policies and procedures such as Operational Process Standards (OPS).

·      Gain a clear understanding of department process flows and actively seek opportunities for increased efficiency.

·      Ensure all customer standard operating procedures are adhered to and regularly updated in the DLSOP.

·      Manage overseas communications and respond promptly to emails and requests, both internal and external.

·      Meet the company requirement of 52 hours of training per year per employee.

·      Uphold compliance by strictly following company policies and regulations, demonstrating integrity and pride in your work.



Knowledge, skills and behaviours

Knowledge:

·      Familiarity with internal training, company policies, and procedures.

·      In-depth understanding of the company's services, systems, and operations.

·      IATA Certification (preferred).

Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to listen, understand, and convey information clearly to achieve the best results.
  • Pro-active and well-organized, ensuring smooth operations and efficiency.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel and Word.
  • Fluent in English

Training and Requirements

  • Fulfill the company’s requirement of 52 hours of training annually, which may include management or leadership development as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
