Electrical engineer
We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to oversee and manage all aspects of electrical power systems for construction and renovation projects at nuclear power plants, with a strong focus on Doel. The role covers both nuclear and conventional electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, renovate, and optimize electrical systems in compliance with local and international standards and regulations.
- Define equipment ratings, technical specifications, and overall system design, including generators, protection systems, transformers, MV/LV motors, AC/DC electrical boards, safe AC and DC systems, diesel generators, cabling, and more.
- Act as Contract Owner: prepare tender documents, analyze and negotiate technical-commercial bids, and award contracts for electrical equipment and services.
- Manage interfaces with other technical disciplines and customer installations.
- Ensure technical and commercial follow-up of contracts.
- Participate in factory acceptance tests, supervise on-site assembly, and support commissioning of electrical equipment and systems.
- Provide expert consulting on electrical systems for nuclear generation units.
- Monitor market trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in the nuclear/electrical field.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of methods and standards in electrical engineering for nuclear facilities.
Experience required:
- Master’s degree in Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering, with at least five years of experience in the electrical field, ideally within nuclear power systems, including classification and qualification of nuclear safety functions.
- Strong interest in the analysis and research of innovative solutions to technical challenges in electrical power systems.
- Proficiency in Dutch and English
- Highly motivated, able to collaborate effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong customer-oriented mindset, integrating client satisfaction into daily work.
- Dynamic personality with a proactive and innovative approach.
- Independent, rigorous, and possessing a strong sense of responsibility.
- Willingness to travel abroad for short or medium-term assignments, with regular missions at the Doel NPP site.
