Senior legal counsel
The Senior Legal Counsel provides legal counseling, guidance, and support to business on all Middle East matters and projects, notably:
- Offering strategic counsel to regional management and other stakeholders.
- Delivering legal support in areas that facilitates the company’s compliance with all applicable international and domestic laws, rules and regulation
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, including complex and multi-jurisdictional agreements, and developing contract strategies.
- Assisting with customer claim management, warranty, and product liability matters.
- Managing and coordinating legal disputes.
- Conducting internal compliance investigations.
- Identifying, reporting, monitoring, and mitigating legal and compliance risks.
- Monitoring and communicating relevant legal and regulatory developments and best practices within the organization.
- Designing and delivering legal and compliance training programs.
- Developing and implementing internal policies and procedures.
- Managing corporate housekeeping for subsidiaries in the Middle-East region.
- Instructing and overseeing external legal counsel.
- Liaising with authorities.
- Providing legal support for group functions, as well as global and cross-regional projects and working groups.
- Supporting the regional Legal & Compliance team.
- Master’s degree in business law
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience,
- Fluency in English and Arabic
- Strong working knowledge of regulations in Middle East
- Demonstrated ability to deliver practical guidance clearly and concisely.
- Acting as a key business partner with problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to assess legal risks and propose viable solutions legally and commercially.
- Highly proactive and organized, while managing multiple and complex projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, flexible and pragmatic.
- Good team spirit and collaboration skills.
