Head of Internal Audit - Arabic speaker
We are partnering with a fast-growing regional group to appoint a Head of Internal Audit.
Operating across multiple Middle East markets, the organisation is entering a phase of growth and governance maturity, creating a unique opportunity to build and lead the Internal Audit function from the ground up.
Based in Dubai and reporting to the Board & the CEO, this is a highly visible leadership role offering direct exposure to senior decision-makers and the opportunity to shape the company's governance, risk, and control framework from inception.
Main Responsibilities:
- Establish and lead the Internal Audit function, including audit methodologies, governance frameworks, and risk-based audit planning
- Develop and execute audits across key areas including financial controls, procurement, capital investments, regulatory compliance, and operational risks
- Provide independent assurance and strategic advice to senior management and the Board on governance, risk, and internal controls
- Monitor remediation plans and drive the resolution of key audit findings across the organisation
- Support the development of a strong risk-aware culture while maintaining a pragmatic, business-oriented approach
- Prepare and present insightful reports to executive leadership, the Audit Committee, and the Board
Profile:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Internal Audit, Risk Advisory, or related functions (outside of consultancy / BIG4 environments)
- Previous experience building, transforming, or significantly enhancing an Internal Audit function
- Strong exposure to asset-intensive sectors such as infrastructure, telecom, utilities, energy, construction, or similar environments
- Solid knowledge of governance frameworks, risk management, and risk-based auditing methodologies
- Experience in the UAE / GCC is mandatory (relocators will not be considered for this opportunity as a strong understanding of regulatory environments across the GCC is required).
- Professional certification such as CIA, CPA, CFE or equivalent
- Fluency in both Arabic and English is mandatory
