Head of Islamic Finance & Capital Markets
A key financial institution in Qatar is actively looking for a Head of Islamic Finance & Capitla Markets to support their mission to position Qatar as a leading global financial hub by developing innovative financial products, enhancing regulatory frameworks, and fostering strategic international partnerships.
The Role
As the Head of Islamic Finance & Capital Markets, you will lead efforts to expand and enhance the financial services sector with a strong focus on Islamic Finance. Your key responsibilities will include:
✅ Strategic Leadership & Market Development
- Define and implement a roadmap to develop Qatar’s Islamic Finance and Capital Markets sector.
- Identify opportunities for new financial products and services, including Sukuk, bonds, and derivatives.
- Develop a private placement platform and private Sukuk program to attract international investors.
- Establish Qatar as a hub for sustainable finance, working with global institutions.
✅ Regulatory & Policy Contributions
- Analyze local and international regulatory frameworks to ensure compliance and recommend improvements.
- Work closely with regulatory bodies to enhance the financial ecosystem.
- Contribute to policy-making through research, forecasting, and market analysis.
✅ Business Development & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with financial institutions, regulators, and key market players.
- Lead international roadshows, marketing initiatives, and strategic partnerships.
- Promote Qatar as a world-class Islamic Finance hub, engaging with regional and global stakeholders.
- Support firms in navigating licensing and regulatory approval processes.
✅ Industry Thought Leadership
- Represent the organization in global forums, financial associations, and working groups.
- Provide training and advisory support on Islamic Finance and Capital Markets regulations.
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in Islamic Finance, Sustainable Finance, and Capital Markets
- Proven leadership in financial services, with local and international expertise
- Any exposure to Qatar, Malaysia and Turkey would be a strong asset
