Job description

As a Junior Accountant, you will play an essential role in supporting the operational accounting processes of various group entities, including holding, real estate, and operational companies. After comprehensive training on the Odoo accounting software, you will progressively take on greater autonomy and responsibility in daily financial operations.

  • Recording daily transactions within the Odoo accounting system for multiple business entities
  • Assisting with payment preparation and execution, ensuring timely and accurate handling of accounts payable
  • Performing bank reconciliations and verifying consistency between accounting data and bank statements
  • Managing invoice tracking, including the systematic follow-up on overdue payments and proper documentation
  • Assisting in VAT declarations, supporting compliance with applicable Belgian tax requirements
  • Participating in year-end closing activities: helping with tasks such as preparing depreciation schedules and ensuring completeness of financial records
  • Providing general administrative support to the accounting team as needed

The position requires a solid grounding in accounting principles (preferably Belgian GAAP), along with excellent communication skills in either French or Dutch and a good knowledge of English. Comfort with learning and using new software, especially Odoo, is essential. You will routinely handle invoice processing, bank reconciliations, and VAT-related tasks, while managing priorities effectively in a dynamic work setting.

  • Strong willingness to learn: Adaptability and an openness to acquiring new knowledge, particularly in accounting software and emerging tools, are essential qualities.
  • Organized multitasker: Candidates should be comfortable managing several responsibilities simultaneously, with strong time-management skills to ensure deadlines are consistently met.
  • Technologically adept: A keen interest in learning and using new digital systems—especially accounting platforms—is key to growing with us.
  • Excellent communication: We seek candidates with clear written and verbal communication skills in either French or Dutch, and good working knowledge of English, as effective teamwork and cross-departmental collaboration are vital.
  • Educational foundation: A Bachelor’s degree in accounting and familiarity with Belgian accounting principles underpin success in this role.
