Policy Manager
A leading European organization dedicated to sustainable transport is seeking a Policy Manager – Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure to lead its work on policies supporting the rollout of charging infrastructure for both passenger vehicles and heavy-duty trucks. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence policy development at both the EU and national levels, ensuring the charging network is ready to support Europe’s transition to electric mobility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the organization’s policy work on electric vehicle charging, covering infrastructure needs for both cars and trucks.
- Drive advocacy efforts at the EU level, particularly around the revision of key legislation governing charging infrastructure.
- Develop and deepen internal expertise on charging policies and technologies, and advise teams across both central and national offices.
- Support the creation of national charging strategies by providing tailored input and strategic guidance.
- Work closely with colleagues focused on trucks and cars to ensure policy goals are well-aligned.
- Coordinate a cross-functional hub focused on charging infrastructure, monitoring developments and sharing best practices.
- Engage constructively with EU institutions, industry stakeholders, and civil society to influence policy outcomes.
Candidate Profile
Essential qualifications:
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience working on EV charging policy or a closely related field (e.g., public policy, sustainable transport, clean energy).
- Ability to lead projects and workstreams independently, while contributing to wider organizational goals.
- Skilled in building relationships with policymakers, industry players, and advocacy organizations.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to evaluate complex issues and develop policy recommendations.
- Proven project management abilities, ideally with cross-team coordination experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills tailored to various audiences.
Big plus:
- Knowledge of grid integration, energy systems, demand-side management, or business models related to EV charging.
