Country Head of Finance
Location: Conakry, Guinea
Are you ready to make an impact in a dynamic and rapidly growing organization operating across the African continent? We're looking for a hands-on and driven Country Head of Finance / Finance Manager to join our leadership team in Guinea, and take charge of a large finance operation in a key West African market.
This role offers a unique opportunity for a hands-on finance professional to play a pivotal part in building structure, supporting strategic initiatives, and managing a diverse finance team in one of the busiest and most operationally intense offices in the region.
🚀 What You’ll Do
- Lead and restructure the local finance function,
- Business partner and report directly to the Country GM.
- Oversee financial operations, forecasting, budgeting, financial analysis, P&L responsibilities, and reporting.
- Supervise a team of up to 20 local finance professionals.
- Collaborate closely with local leadership and international stakeholders.
- Ensure operational excellence in alignment with group financial goals.
- Lead the financial strategy, planning, and forecasting for the country operations.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Maintain compliance with local statutory, tax, and legal requirements.
- Implement and oversee effective internal controls.
- Track operational and capital expenditures to ensure cost efficiency.
- Analyze business performance and drive cost-saving initiatives.
- Manage banking relationships, cash flow forecasting, and liquidity planning.
🔍 What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 7 years of experience in finance roles
- Strong leadership with a hands-on, positive & pragmatic mindset — not afraid to roll up the sleeves
- Fluent in French and English (both mandatory)
- Previous exposure to shipping, logistics, or related sectors is a plus
- A significant experience with African countries (West Africa preferred) is a mandatory to be successful in the role
