Network LAN Engineer
ey Responsibilities:
- Participate in presales meetings to understand customer needs and create network designs
- Design simple and complex network solutions, working with network architects
- Validate technical aspects of quotes from the sales team
- Deploy and configure LAN infrastructure (switches, access points, routers, firewalls)
- Set up monitoring systems for network performance tracking
- Provide Level 3 support to the support team and troubleshoot network issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (UC, video, IOT, WAN) on network requirements
- Monitor LAN performance, apply fixes, and perform regular maintenance
- Manage lifecycle of LAN devices (hardware and software)
- Optimize network monitoring systems for proactive issue detection
- Candidate Profile:
- Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Languages: Native Dutch speaker with professional proficiency in French and/or English
- Experience: 3-5 years of LAN engineering or network administration experience
- Ideal: Knowledge or experience (even passive) in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC)
- Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Adaptable, flexible, and able to work in dynamic environments
- Proactive, with the ability to take initiative and drive change
- Out-of-the-box thinker with excellent problem-solving skills
- Required Skills:
- Experience with wireless networking (Cisco, HP, Fortinet)
- Familiarity with Network Access Control (Cisco ISE, HP ClearPass, FortiNAC)
- Knowledge of switching technologies (VLAN, Dot1Q, Spanning Tree, LACP)
- Experience with routing protocols (MPLS, BGP, OSPF, QoS)
- Exposure to Fortigate firewalls or similar security solutions
- Strong troubleshooting and monitoring skills
- Preferred Skills:
- Experience with multiple wireless vendors
- Knowledge of basic automation (Python, Ansible, XML, JSON)
- Certifications such as CCNA, HCIA, NSE, or equivalent
- Personal Traits:
- Autonomous, self-motivated, and organized
- Customer-focused, able to manage expectations
- Team player with good communication skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset, adaptable, and proactive in identifying business opportunities
